There is a compromise on the seal integrity if the sensor detects elevated CO2 levels. The online leak detector is the commonly used method since it can test large packages in a very short time. It has an automatic leak detector that separates the compromised items from the intact one as they move along a parallel conveyor belt.

Methods of Leak Detection

Leak detection equipment uses bubble emission tests, vacuum package tests, and dry chamber tests to check for any leaks on the products. The bubble emission test is the oldest leak detection method and involves placing a package in a chamber filled with water. The presence of bubbles confirms a compromised package. The dry chamber method involves placement of the item in a test chamber and then evacuation of the gas from the chamber. The high sensitive sensors detect entry of any gas into the chamber from the package. The vacuum method is similar to the dry chamber with the difference being that the sensors also identify the pressure change.

Manufacturers of packages should handle the manufacturing process with care to prevent losses of products and revenue. The potential customers are also highly likely to lose trust in your brand if they fall sick after consumption of foodstuffs from your company.
